The adventure continues! I knew before I visited New Zealand’s south island that it would be beautiful. What I didn’t know was just how diverse the lanscape would be. Into the lush rainforest that I posted images of last week, advances Fox Glacier. The glacier is one of the most accessible in the world, with walking tracks leading up to the glacier terminus. However, feeling a bit more adventurous, a helicopter flight and glacier hike was decided upon. The weather had been a bit unpredictable during the first few days of the trip and we weren’t sure if our heli-hike would go ahead but luckily for the mister and I the sun came out and along with our guide, we ended up being the only people on the glacier! Amazing! This was one of the highlights of the entire holiday.
I still have a few more photos from New Zealand to share with you but they may have to wait until after Christmas, I have some baking to do! So until then, have a happy Sunday and enjoy the rest of your weekend 🙂
Blogland is awash with Christmas posts at the moment and while my Christmas holidays have begun, I thought I would share something less festive with you all. With study over for the year, I have finally had time to sort through the photos I took back in September, on a trip to New Zealand. Feeling tired and wondering how we were going to make it to the end of a challenging year, the mister and I impulsively decided to fly to the land of the long white cloud for a bit rest, rejuvenation and inspiration. We hired a car and toured around the South Island, taking in as many of the amazing sights as time and the weather would permit. There was so much to see in this beautiful country that I am sure we will be back in the future. For now I shall content myself with the memories that these images evoke.
So long winter! Spring is almost here! The air is getting warmer and the light is lasting longer. Even my Instagram photos are lighter and brighter.
Usually these posts have a bit of a theme but this one is a random mix of a few of the things I have been up to lately: drinking coffee (too much), trying to get used to wearing specs, stopping to smell the flowers, fieldtrippin‘ and admiring ceramic vessels.
Vivid Sydney has come and gone for another year. Did any of you get along to any of the events that were part of this year’s festival? I only managed to see a handful of the installations and projections this year, as the night I decided to go the rest of Sydney turned up as well! It was so crowded that it was difficult to move around and I only managed to photograph a small section of the huge light display. Even though this was a bit of a let down, the lights themselves did not disappoint, I only wish I could have seen more. Next year (fingers crossed) I will be more organised!
